Intertranslation specialises in translation and interpreting of African languages and mediation between cultures and languages.
At the end of 1997, the office in the Ruhr area, Dortmund, was established at the initiative of a strong woman, Theresa Franz, who wanted to simplify communication between the German language and African languages.
Very quickly Intertranslation realised for African Languages that the cause, the communication, is the language problem. Because without the possibility of communication, any consensus is impossible from the outset.
The relationship between the foreign citizens living in Germany and the authorities is very difficult because of the language, so it was important to set up a service office to simplify this relationship.
